Mica is open to any independent retailer who currently operates, or wishes to open, a DIY and hardware store. With over 50+ members across all four nations of the UK - from the Scottish Islands to Central London - we are a group built on a "first-name basis" that puts the independent shop owner first.

The Mica Difference: Independence Without Isolation

In a retail landscape dominated by impersonal "Big Box" chains, Mica offers a third way. We are a Retailer Co-operative, which means we are wholly owned by our members.

When you join Mica, you aren’t a franchisee; you are an owner. Every employee of the group works solely for the benefit of the membership.

No Recurring Annual Fees: Unlike many other groups, Mica does not charge ongoing annual membership fees.
Investment in Share Capital: Your one-off membership fee is returned to you in the form of share capital in the co-operative.
Shared Goal: We ask that members participate in the group’s buying and marketing services and display the Mica brand on their storefront. This collective action increases our buying power and reduces marketing costs for everyone.
