Two Mica Members Nominated in the ’Hardware Retailer of the Year’ category at the 2012 DIYweek Awards.
The shortlist of five, announced on DIYweek.net, includes Halls Mica Hardware, of Chapel-En-Le-Frith, High Peak - Derbyshire, and Mainlys of Devizes Mica, Devizes - Wiltshire plus three other non Mica members, Mad Hatters Hardware, Right Price DIY and R. E. Thorns.
Halls are a longstanding founder member of Mica, and have continued to have great success even in difficult times thanks to their excellent reputation for customer service and expansion into new categories including Cake Decorating in the last 12 months, they’ve also had a recent instore refit where they’ve brightened up the shop with new fixtures and lighting.
Mainlys of Devizes are one of our newest members, started as a from scratch store in 2010 who previously had a market stall selling tools & hardware in the town. After being runner up in last years awards, they have pulled off a surprise second nomination - no-one can remember the last time a store was nominated two years running in this category! They have in the last 12 months opened a second store in Trowbridge and have worked hard to grow their business in the town, despite competition from a new chain store across the road.
We’d like to congratulate Colin & Claire, Joyce & Harry, and both teams at Mainlys of Devizes Mica and Halls Mica Hardware for getting this far and wish them luck at the finals in Manchester on the 13th November, we’re all very proud!
