The Mica Supplier Awards for 2015 kicked off with the Promotional Supplier of the Year Award, given to a supplier who’s made a real impact on Mica’s consumer marketing in the last 12 months. Friedola, Mercer and Whatmore were all nominated, but it was Whatmore who took away the award, collected by Karen Murray and presented by Mrs Joyce Hall of Halls Mica Hardware, Promotions Committee Chairman (pictured left).
This was followed with Wholesaler Branch of the year. This is offered to those who make their best efforts to provide everything the members ask for and more with regards to stock and delivery. This year’s Nominees were FPS Sheffield & Manchester Branches and Stax Birmingham Branch. The award went to Stax Birmingham Branch and was received by Mr Tim Ball, pictured here with Mica Chairman Mr David Morris.
Another award up for grabs was the Supplier Growth Award. This award is given to the supplier who has had the largest growth through Mica and its Members in the last year. The top performers in 2014 were Mercer Agencies, Rustins and Whatmore UK and Mr Iain Mercer of Mercer Agencies received the award as the overall winner which was also presented by Chairman Mr David Morris.
The penultimate award was the Representative or Rep Team of the Year award. Winners of this award will have offered outstanding customer support with the members over the last year. Three suppliers were nominated: Akzo Nobel, LG Harris and RKW but the award was taken by Akzo Nobel. It was presented by Chairman Mr David Morris to Mr Phil Davies (pictured left).
And finally we have the Supplier of the Year Award. This is awarded to a company that has worked hard in all areas, growing members’ business, promotional offerings and customer service. Nominated were Akzo Nobel, Draper Tools, and Murpak and the winner was Draper Tools. The award was received by Draper Managing Director Mr Graham Wade & Mr Phil Rowley and was presented by Mica CEO Mr Steve Ball (Pictured Right). Steve commented that it was the first time an event sponsor had won the award and that it was well deserved.
