Independent retailer co-operative Mica DIY gathered for its Mica Exchange, its annual member & supplier event this weekend. It held for the second time in a decade this year in Scotland, this time at the historic Peebles Hydro Hotel & Spa in the Scottish Borders.
The event, which saw nearly half the membership attend, was rated in feedback an average of 9.2 / 10 by all attendees.
The weekend comprises multiple elements, including co-operative members and suppliers gathering for one-to-one speed dating meetings and further opportunities for business building in a social setting at the annual Mica black tie Gala Dinner & Awards evening. This year saw the evening raise over £1000 in its raffle for hardware industry charity the Rainy Day Trust.
Feedback from the Mica membership has been glowing on the weekend, with Victoria Brown, of Coopers of Pickering Mica calling the Mica Exchange ‘a fantastic networking event with opportunities to meet new suppliers’, whilst Katherine Williams of Halls Mica Hardware, Chapel-en-le-Frith noted it was ‘great to meet other store owners and suppliers in person’.
Mica is a co-operative of 55 diy, garden & home stores from across the UK, working together for mutual benefit in the areas of marketing, retail development and with over 100 supplier partners. For more information contact@mica.coop or 01785 825 910.
