Date: Friday 29th September, 2023

Mica’s Annual Gala Dinner & Awards evening in Peebles on the 17th September held a Raffle to raise funds for Hardware Industry Charity, and Mica’s partner charity The Rainy Day Trust.

Held at the historic Peebles Hydro Hotel & Spa, Mica’s members and suppliers raised money toether for the trust at its Black Tie Gala Dinner & Awards evening through an after dinner raffle, raising over £1000 for Mica’s industry charity partner

Mica Director and store owner Mrs Joyce Hall opened the evening by talking about some of the challenges facing the charity, and the good work it does. She noted: -

The high levels of inflaton that we are all still experiencing are placing incredible pressures on individuals and businesses
alike.

During this time, the trust is helping people with the tools to help themselves and act as a safety net when it gets too much. For many, they cope okay until something big fails. Its at this point the Rainy Day Trust steps in.

Prizes were generously supplied by suppliers including Stax Trade Centres (who also sponsored the Reception Drinks), Harris Brushes, Sodastream, Dulux (in the form of a giant fluffy dog) as well as a gift from Mica herself.

Attending members, suppliers and staff then dug deep, and with gift aid the total raised will be well in excess of £1,500.

Top prizes were won by Sales Director Phil Rowley of Draper Tools, who had a big night going on to win Supplier of the Year with Account Manager Adrian Bates, and Lloyd Smedley, owner of Caboodle Mica in York.
